Adorned with
baby blue jerseys representing the total raised during
this year's campaign, staff of the United Way stood
side-by-side during the announcement of the year's grand
total, at this year's Campaign Finale Luncheon.
With an
enthusiastic audience of nearly 300 participants,
Campaign Chair, Jack Wood revealed that this year's
campaign had raised $1,729,288. The amount raised
surpassed this year's goal of $1.65 million.
During the
event, representatives from varying companies shared
with audience members their strategies, for running
successful employee campaign drives. John Wilfert
of Odessa College summed it up best by stating, "It is a
wonderful thing for any organization to do----to give
back to the community."
In his
closing comments, Jack Wood reiterated to the audience
about the importance of giving back to the community for
those individuals that are not as fortunate and who are
in need. Jack also concluded the event by
indicating that the success of the campaign was
attributed to many volunteers and United Way staff
dedicating endless hours of their time for the common
good!: |
