Campaign Finale Celebrates Most Successful Total in 60 Years
11/17/11 Odessa, TX- The board and staff of the United Way of Odessa held the 2011 campaign finale at the Odessa
Chamber of Commerce on Thursday. Executive Director Tom Pursel announced that with 16 campaign packets still
outstanding, campaign projections place the total at $1,940,916.11. However, Mr. Pursel and Campaign Chair, Renee'
Earls, both indicated that the $2,000,000 campaign goal set in August could still be reached by the end of the year.
United Way of Odessa Board President Gingie Sredanovich congratulated the staff and volunteers on the success of the
2011 campaign. At 97% of goal this year's campaign surpassed the previous annual total by over $100,000 due to
the local corporations, agencies, workers, and individuals that made pledges at over 100 United Way campaigns and events.

2011 Campaign Finale Near: Pledges Still Needed

on November 15, 2011. The 2011 campaign is projected to be a success due to the caring power of the

Campaign Gets Spicy at 3rd Annual United Way Night at Buffalo Wild Wings
10/27/11 Odessa, TX- The 3rd annual United Way night at Buffalo Wild Wings once again provided lots of entertainment for
those in attendance. Students and faculty from Odessa High, Permian High, and Odessa College created lots of noise as
representatives from both high schools participated in a wing eating contest.OHS soccer coach Noe Cerezo won the contest
for the second year in a row.
Partial proceeds from meals served from 5:00-8:00 PM will be donated to the United Way of Odessa.
ConocoPhillips Continues to Give Back In Big Ways
10/11/11 Odessa, TX- The management and staff of ConocoPhillips are known for their generous local giving. In fact, since
2007 ConocoPhillips has raised over $600,000 for United Ways in West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico and won the
United Way of Odessa's Best New Campaign Award (2007) and Outstanding Campaign Award (2008 & 2009).
With preliminary numbers in hand, this year's ConocoPhillips annual United Way auction appears to be yet another record
breaker for the community leader. Held on October 6, the auction was open to ConocoPhillips employees and contractors
and both auctions appear to have raised more money than ever before.
The Board of Directors and staff of the United Way would like to say "thank you" to the ConocoPhillips employees that put so
much work into their campaign. Without you, we could not successfully serve our community and those in need.
