Text Box: United Way of Odessa Assist People in Crisis  The Massey Family is a recipient of United Way support through American Red Cross of Southwest Texas.                                                                The Massey’s family home was destroyed by a fire a week before Christmas.  The family escaped with no injuries, but all their possessions were destroyed.  They had no place to live, clothes, or Christmas presents and Mrs. Massey was about to give birth.  The American Red Cross of Southwest Texas helped obtain shelter, clothing, food, medications, a new place to live and counseling.  Best of all, the Massey family got their lives back and celebrated the new addition to the family.                                           That’s what matters!

Text Box: United Way of Odessa Supports Basic Needs         Mr. Stevenson is a recipient of United way support through Meals on Wheels.                                                                                                             Mr. Stevenson is a 57 year old man who suffers from Parkinson's disease making it difficult to meet his basic needs.  After losing his wife to diabetes in 2003, Mr. Stevenson has maintained his independence while remaining in his home with the help of Meals on Wheels.  His family members are extremely grateful knowing he will receive a hot meal everyday so they can continue to work.  Meals on Wheels not only helps Mr. Stevenson, but his whole family.                                     Thanks to your contributions to United Way, Mr. Stevenson has been able to maintain his independence by staying in his home.                That's what matters!
